Gradual mailbox warm-up

A gradual volume ramp to protect the reputation of a new mailbox.

A new mailbox that suddenly sends a lot damages its reputation. Warm-up caps the volume at the start, then raises it day by day.

Gradual ramp (on by default)

  • The daily cap starts at 5 emails on day 1, then goes 8, 12, 16, 20, 25 and 30 through day 7, and then grows by 3 per day until day 30 (99 emails). After that, the ramp no longer limits anything.
  • It never exceeds your own daily limit per mailbox, nor the cap set by the platform.
  • A mailbox is paused automatically if too many of its latest emails bounce: clean your list, then reactivate it.

Adjust warm-up

  1. Go to Deliverability → Mailboxes.
  2. Open Warm-up on the mailbox concerned.
  3. Turn the gradual ramp on or off. "Restart from day 1" restarts the ramp.
  4. Follow today's emails sent against today's cap, and the 14-day chart.

Exchanges between your mailboxes (optional)

  • This option is off by default and you set it yourself, mailbox by mailbox. At least two mailboxes in the workspace must have turned it on.
  • The workspace's mailboxes occasionally send each other a few neutral emails and reply to one another. Nothing is ever sent to third parties. Volume stays low (about 10 emails a day at first) and counts toward your daily limit.
  • These automated exchanges may go against Google's and Microsoft's rules and can lead to restrictions on your account. No one can guarantee better inbox placement. You are asked to confirm the risk when you turn it on.
  • A global switch, on the platform administration side, can disable this option entirely: it is then shown as unavailable.
